NRA calls for investigation into shooting of Castille
The reports from Minnesota are troubling and must be thoroughly investigated
I think everyone should calm down until it is investigated.

“I think everyone should calm down until it is investigated.”
Like that’s going to happen. There are too many hobbyhorses and agendas to be pressed for cooler heads to be acknowledged, let alone heeded.

Egads, here we go again, political correctness, now from the NRA, the day after SAF gets on the PC bandwagon.
Oh well, it’s the Obama era, I suppose that it’s reflexive by now. See my post on SAF’s kergibillating:
I’ll repost it here for your pleasure:
“My impression is that there was some confusion on the part of Mr. Castile with regard to the officer’s commands. Yes, they’ll ask for ID, but if you then tell them that you have a gun, and reach for your ID while they’re screaming at you to put your hands up and pointing a gun at you, well, it can interesting at that point, and apparently it did.
When it comes to dealing with cops while CCWing, you can keep your head out of your ass, or go for the Darwin award. Mr. Castile went for the award, and he got it!
BTW “Law-abiding”? My understanding is that Mr. Castile was a member of the Crips gang: http://gotnews.com/breaking-philandocastile-falconheightsshooting-crips-gangmember/
SAF’s pearl clutching over this is just plain silly.”
All right, there you have it, so now we have the spectacle of the elderly Wayne LaPierre, once wonderful man that he was, engaging in the dastardly art of politically correct, pearl clutching. I suppose it happens, testosterone levels decrease with age, and Wayne, god that he once was, has now fallen to the level of a mere mortal. Oh well, shit happens. We’ll get through it, as we always do.

I hope the SAF & NRA are calling for an investigation based on the early (and apparently incorrect) report that Castle had a CCW license. And except for large cities, officer involved shootings are mostly done by outside (usually state level) agencies.

According to the two local papers of note, the St Paul Pioneer Press and the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the late Mr. Castile did indeed have an issued CCW permit from his previous address in Robbinsdale, a close suburb to Minneapolis in Hennepin County. There is some question as to whether it was still in effect, as one is supposed to inform the licensing bureau within 30 days of a move.
I hope for two things:
1) Our Governor stops running off at the mouth-parts,
2) That a thorough investigation is indeed conducted, without the Feds getting all enmeshed,
