Wishful thinking
Someone is wishing kind of hard: This Is the Beginning of the End of the NRA
You see, we’re all racists. And they want to ban guns and we don’t want them to so that means we won’t compromise. What an idiot.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

When the Bloomberg-inspired fallout in NY, CT, NJ, CO and elsewhere from the Newtown atrocity still has not been rolled back to the status before that time, despite years of effort and tens of millions of dollars spent to do so, the article has a bit of a point.
Sure, concealed carry has advanced in the past years, and some gains on Castle Doctrine have occurred here and there, but what else has happened to improve the exercise of the right of individual self defense in our nation?
Our current president has spent 8 years using his admittedly excellent public relations skills to demonize the lawful ownership of firearms. That has to be stopped, and reversed, so that lawful ownership of firearms is seen once again as a civic virtue by the vast majority of the citizenry.
Until that is accomplished, the writer of the article has a point, although not the one he thinks he has.

Compromise is the other guy giving you what you want.
Firm principles is you not budging an inch on what you want.
See?

Yeah, why does the NRA have to be so bitterly opposed to compromise? Why can’t they be more like pro-choice groups that all said, “sure, give me a trans-vaginal ultrasound before my abortion. As long as I can still get my abortion, that’s fair.”? Or the LBGT advocacy groups who said, “civil unions? That sounds just as marriage! Great!”
