Bi annual over bi annual comparisons are bogus in statistical analysis. You must have a decent sample size in order to establish a trend. 78% sure does sound impressive though, doesn’t it? Seems like somebody trying to sell me on new “hot” stock tip or something.
Fred it right. You need a larger bracket than one year. It feels like they are up, but then again it also feels like mass shootings are up(but they aren’t)
Headlines and hyped coverage are certainly up, for cop shootings and mass shootings alike.
This handily plays into three related but separate prog narratives;
1) the more teevee and face time they get, the more copycats, which feeds number two;
2) the more copycats, or the more impression of them, the more we need Common Sense Measures to keep these Assault Weapons off the street to stop the Gun Violence.
3) Bread and circuses. This is a great circus part, Hillz and the Commie (but I repeat myself) will get right to the bread about 1/21/17
“The Christian Science Monitor” is anti-gun – they’re in the tank with Obama/Hillary, so they’re pooh-poohing the increase by ending the story with craptalk like, “So I’m hoping that [the increase in fatalities] is a phase and, it’s that ‘This too shall pass.'”
Fact is, police shootings are up 78%, and that albatross needs to be hung around the neck of Obama/Hillary. Obama’s lack of support for law enforcement officers is getting them killed. That cocksucker wouldn’t even light the White House blue – not even merely symbolic support for law enforcement from the nation’s chief law enforcement officer. Obama never outgrew his Choom Gang mentality – he still doesn’t like cops. Here’s one less equivocal article, and there are others too.
There’s a difference between “Cop gets shot because domestic disturbance/bank robbery/traffic stop” and “cop gets shot because someone deliberately set out to murder a cop”. One is the risks of a hazardous job, the other is deliberate assassination. Which one do you see more of today than you did five years ago?
