It’s a good first step, maybe, but the abuses will not stop until the individual perpetrators are held criminally liable for Deprivation of Rights Under Color of Law.
Once it becomes clear that we’re serious (an as yet unprecidented state of affairs) these abuses will become extremely rare. The problem with that is; before it can become clear that we are serious, we must actually become serious.

This is kabuki theater between the liberal Austin Dems and the state Republican establishment. The same thing happened when concealed carry was implemented, when guns in cars was implemented, when open carry was implemented and is now being done with guns in government offices.
Next up, starting August 01, is legal campus concealed carry at all state universities, and the caterwauling of the professors is rising to a wail even now, as the administration tries to regulate this new law out of existence by limiting its applicability, or at least making it impossible to attend the University while carrying and NOT violate their made-up campus carry restrictions.

What?! You mean these supposed liberals are not pro choice–for a woman’s right to carry the means to protect her own body from rapists and murderers?!
