That line of thinking is nonsensical anyway. It’s not the cost you want to focus on; it’s what you end up with that counts.
I can’t count the number of times I’ve been told “Golly; that’s more that I paid for…” That’s not even a point, much less a valid one.
OK, so, “I can’t buy the Glock because it’s several times what I paid for the Gadget.” See how dumb that is? “I can’t buy that holster; it’s some percentage of what I paid for the gun!”
“I can’t use a high-end optical sight because my rifle didn’t cost enough for it.”
“I’ll never be able to use good night vision because I don’t own a $3500.00 rifle.”
Is it sinking in yet?
I once paid more for a set of tires than what I paid for the car I put them on. Nonetheless I still got all the rated miles out of them and never had a flat. It wasn’t about the number of dollars I paid for the car, but the kind of tires I wanted, OK?
Are we getting a clue?
“WHAT? That car costs more than the carport I’d park it under!!!!”
Just stop, OK?
When I came out with a new design optic mount years ago, it was more than a quarter of the cost of the rifle. All my “friends” told me, first, that it wouldn’t work, and second, that NO one would pay that much for something to go on such a cheap rifle. None of them have said they changed their minds now that we’ve sold millions of dollars worth of them, keeping several families employed for 18 years.
Sorry; this is a pet peve of mine, and I’m going to jump on anyone who says that about anything.
I paid more for a wedding ring for my wife than what I paid for her. Does that make me a fool? I once paid more for a sleeping bag than for the tent I used it in too.
Lyle, my wife once brought home a large Persian rug. It was two feet longer than the living room. When my wife called the rug dealer to ask if they had a smaller version, he replied, “You are asking the wrong question about that excellent piece of art you purchased. You should be asking, ‘How long am I going to stay in this house?’ and looking for a correctly-sized living room in your next home.”
We kept the carpet, and two years later it looked great in our new, correctly-sized living room.
Looks like the Indiegogo campaign for those of us that ordered a Gadget and aren’t as awesome as Tam is going to take a year. Honestly I’m ok with that and sorry to hear all the problems they have been having gettting them made.

That’s how long the Indiegogo campaign is taking for me, too, for the production models I’ve ordered. Latest word is late September/early October, since they will be CNC’ed stateside instead of MIM’ed overseas.
This prototype T&E one I’ve had since 2013 required signing a mountain of paperwork and reporting back on performance and whatnot.
Hehe, my tongue was firmly in cheek there Tam 😉 I’ve beta tested some PC flight aim equipment so I know what you are saying.
I’ve been following the update emails too. I wonder if they will make the second runs in the US and how much it will go up in price of that happens. The two failed production runs of the MIM overseas does not bode well that they will ever do that again. I am glad I ordered two but hope they will eventually be more profitable and the second runs aren’t too expensive.

$135.00 Damn that almost a 1/4 of the cost of the pistol to begin with…
