Constitutional carry in an emergency
The Florida governor has signed a law that allows those who are evacuating to carry a firearm whether they have a permit or not.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

That’s good I guess, but the second amendment already says that, AND we already have a law that says depriving anyone of that right is a federal crime. Apparently, the Florida Gubnuh isn’t aware of any of that– All he had to do was insist on prosecutions for anyone violating the second amendment.

Governor Scott got that passed so that the liberal fart-knockers in the Metro-Dade area and one certain North Central Florida county can’t screw with people like the New Orleans cops did after Katrina. Also protects all those crackers and other bubbas who will be pouring in to fix the damage and will be carrying.
We would be left of Massachusetts or California if the above counties had their way.

Andrew, I am also sitting here in Florida pondering maximum wind speed into my hamlet…
…I’m thinking, just put a fishing rod in the car and tell them you are going fishing. You can then open carry.
Another ridiculous law from the rainshine State.

MA is only so far to the left because of gerrymandering and institutionalized corruption which make it nearly impossible to challenge incumbents. Almost all politicians in MA run opposed and the state GOP apparatus is essentially a phony opposition party.
The left is really good at capturing institutions and then rigging the rules to make sure they can’t be retaken.
The MA house speaker and AG are essentially unreproachable dictators with infinitely more power than the governor.

To clarify my previous comment, it is ridiculous that it is ok to open carry when you have a fishing pole over your shoulder but not otherwise…
…open carry would also allow us suit wearing folk to carry other than the odd compact and not have to worry about printing and alarming the masses.

Gov dude looks like a scared marmoset in the headlights and has the speaking style of a semi-retarded speaker of English as a second language.
But I’m okay with that because he’s been a pretty rock-solid real deal conservative on the issues that count, like in this case where he wanted to make damn sure no local Barney Fife’s pulled an Katrina bullshit. Good on him.
Oh, and he came from a big-biz environment where the maxing out return with the use, exploitation and semi-abuse of tax laws and regulations is what you do for your shareholders. Very Trump-like. It’s a good sign for both of them.

ErnestM, a misapplication of your ire. Take it up with the legislators and carry advocates who compromised and sacrificed your historical right to open carry in Florida in order to get CC through.
