And it will have to be prosecuted by other prosecutors. Good luck. Depriving someone of civil liberties under color of law is already a federal felony. All they did was make what is already a felony into a “felonier” felony.
I don’t know if this is a good move in the right direction, or just something that they are doing instead of something.

Huh. Out of California of all places…
Well, a stopped clock is right at least twice a day.
We will just have to wait and see if the exemptions written into the bill are well thought out or just escape hatches.

I agree with the other commenters. If ever used, it will be by a Nifong type prosecutor against a political opponent. The rest of the time, they will put up the blue-suit-and-tie wall.
