This is the worst thing: “Mr. Lichtenstein was able to get gun licenses for some clients who were otherwise unlikely to secure them because of their criminal background or personal history, the government said.”

The real story here, as Uncle’s headline suggests, isn’t that “bad men got gun permits”, if such is the case, but that in New York one must be famous, connected, or rich to enjoy certain enumerated rights. And possibly that law enforcement officials are more concerned with lining their pockets than in upholding and protecting citizens rights.
