Gun rights for those who can afford it
Larry is offering help: A Handy Guide For Liberals Who Are Suddenly Interested In Gun Ownership
So, let’s see where we are so far. Walking back the wall to more of a fence really. Backpedaling on deportation. But I think most people realized those were just talk. But the good news.
Trump has issued his policy positions on gun rights. And it’s pretty good.
Trump will appoint pro-gun judges. Excellent. Heller and McDonald went 5/4. So, we potentially dodged a bullet there.
Rand Paul says that, under Trump, the congress will go on a deregulation spree. Here’s hoping. What really needs to happen is banning bureaucrats from making law through regulation.
People will start to care about the surveillance state again. Maybe even the media.
The Ant Farm Election. The alternative was the animal farm election.
The FBI May Have Run Not Just One But 24 Dark Web Child-Porn Websites
A bit back, I decided to try TOR and see what it was all about. It was mostly like going back to the internet in the days of geocities, only with more cussing. And any link on there had about a 20% of going some place, most didn’t work. I never once saw any thing promoting child porn, murder for hire, or all the other OOGA BOOGA you tend to get when someone says “dark web”. Of course, I wasn’t looking for any of that stuff either. But that’s how the internet portrays what goes on there. And the websites that deal in guns didn’t work. Mostly, the sites were link farms with links to other things that didn’t work. I only surfed for about an hour or so. I don’t see the big deal. Or I’m missing something.
Yeah, about that.
Most of us dont want power to rule others: we want to be left alone. But in order to be left alone, you have to seek enough power to make them leave you alone. That, I think, is our great Catch 22.
There is also the fact that most of us have things to do other than worry about what someone else might be doing.
GemTech has their Improved Outback Upgrade program running again. I took advantage of it this past week. Essentially, I have the old school Outback 2. It’s a fine suppressor except that you cannot disassemble it for a thorough cleaning and you’d have to send it to the factory when it gets gummed up. With the IOU package, they add threaded endcaps for disassembly. They also swap out the old school baffles with the newer monocore baffle. You are also no rated for 22 mag.
At first, I grimaced at the price of $250 since a new suppressor is only a little more than that. But I realized that when you factored in the $200 NFA tax and the months long wait, it was a worthwhile investment. I’ll let you know how it goes.
New Jersey, in a filing in a criminal case three days prior to answering in the NJ2AS/Mark Cheeseman case, already admitted its stun gun ban is unconstitutional.
Of Trump, that is. The biggest winner of the election: The NRA. Given Trump has assembled his second amendment coalition, I’m hopeful he’ll do something to advance gun rights instead of just paying lip service.
And those that elected Trump did not do so to reach across the aisle and all that other hippie nonsense that gets said when Republicans win. They expect something from him. Will he deliver?
And he’ll appoint one supreme court justice for certain. Potentially, he’ll appoint three. I hope he holds to his word there.
The tolerant left is rioting, even here locally there were protests covered on the radio that turned heated. Those that go on about democracy are unhappy with democracy, apparently. They’re protesting Trump. Not wars or the surveillance state.
If I lived in an area prone to such things, I’d probably keep some food and water in my car in case you’re stuck on a road for hours because the “everybody gets a trophy” generation decided to come out of their safe space and have a tantrum.
And they’re up after the election. Meanwhile, anyone who loaded up on guns before the election may have a sad that they didn’t go up in value.
Robb’s not feeling the Trumpening. I understand.
I never supported Trump but I wasn’t never Trump. I did refer to him as one of the least worst options.
The good news is that Hillary didn’t win and that’s about it. She’d have gone after gun rights at every opportunity and expanded government immensely. If Trump keeps his promise on appointing judges, that is definitely an improvement. Particularly since he might be appointing three of them.
Now, under President Trump, will we see a congress that is serious about repealing Obamacare?
We’ll see.
Washington voters, being apparently the authoritarians they are, have voted to deny due process to people. The measure says a judge can strip someone who is viewed as a danger to others of their constitutional right to arms.
In Maine, the NRA defeated Bloomberg’s initiative for expanded background checks.
NRA money backed 55 candidates in the house and senate. They won 38 and lost 10. The rest are still pending.
Well, I guess I need a new word for it since it is now past tense. Trumpened?
Any way, quite a few reactions I figured I’d comment on.
Based on every hippie on facebook and social media, Trump won because everyone is racist, sexist, bigoted, homophobic, and stupid. Well, before the election, they kept saying Trump is racist, sexist, bigoted, homophobic, and stupid. So, I guess they won’t change their strategy all that much after.
The tears of hippies: Slate says they are about to lose their progressive utopia that Obama was ushering us into. Good.
Paul Krugman, who is usually wrong about everything, has a moment of clarity:
What we do know is that people like me, and probably like most readers of The New York Times, truly didnt understand the country we live in.
America. It’s like a whole other country. And this is funny: The left chose the form of its destructor.
I honestly haven’t heard much from the Never Trump crowd.
I’m sure it has nothing to do with the day after the election. But they are now selling guns.

Or will be. That nightmare being this election. It will, however, be replaced with a new one: One of these people is going to be president. I don’t know that it matters much which corrupt life-long democrat from New York wins. I just kind of hope that when the dust settles, which I doubt will be tonight, that each side can just say GG and move on. But I doubt that, as well.
I’ll make my prediction. It’s Hillary’s to lose. By most polls, she’s ahead. But a few factors could swing it the other way. I think that a low turnout by millennials and blacks may play into it. And the high turnout in early voting seems to favor Trump. There’s also the theory I’ve seen posited that a lot of Trump supporters are people who have never voted or haven’t voted in a while and they are underrepresented (if at all) in polling. I don’t find this theory particularly convincing but if such a demographic can be awakened, it would be by a populist like Trump.
When people wanted to simulate full auto and the ads were sexist and unsafe. Here’s an old advertisement for the Hellstorm trigger of many years ago:
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
