I can’t even.

A topic I’ve touched on here a few times over the years is the government, generally, making our lives worse via bureaucratic fiat from people who are not accountable to anyone. For instance, your toilet sucks. My brand new, top of the line dishwasher takes two hours and nineteen minutes to do a load of dishes. My top of the line washing machine does a load of laundry in one hour and five minutes. Both used to accomplish their respective tasks in 30 minutes. Your default government-mandated water heater setting sucks but you can change it. Your showerhead also sucks thanks to government. And your household cleaners also suck thanks to government. You can also change that.
And don’t even get me started on car exhaust systems. Particularly, the Exhaust Gas Recirculation system in the F350. It is nothing but a pain in the nethers.
I’m glad to see this complaint of mine making it in print in other places: Your Shower Is Lame, Your Dishwasher Doesnt Work, and Your Clothes are Dirty:
If the public knew the whole truth about this, the anti-government feeling alive in the land would intensify beyond anything weve ever known. In the meantime, dont blame the manufacturers. They are the victims, along with the rest of the public. We are all trying to live better lives but the government wont allow that to happen.
The future is stupid. But if more people knew exactly how much non-elected bureaucrats were dicking up their day-to-day life, it might get a little less stupid.
Hopefully, some of these regulations Trump is going to target will be the kind I mentioned.
Rumors that local manufacturer of AK pattern rifles, Destructive Devices Industries, shut its doors and is moving out of state. The word I’m getting is there was an unannounced sale of the company. Anyone else hear of any such thing?
Magpul left Colorado after the state banned their product. With their contract with the military, that’s bad news for Colorado and good news for Wyoming.
Most referrals to anti-gun websites come from pro gun sites. Even The Trace. This has been clear for a long time. And it’s why they shut off or heavily moderate comments.
So the big news going into SHOT is that Colt isfinallyresurrecting the Colt Cobra, truly one of the great snubbies of all time. Smith and Wesson is rolling out a 6.5 Creedmoor MP-10. Ruger has ditched the .243 in the superb Ruger Precision Rifle in favor of the new hottness, the 6mm Creedmoor (this is outside my pay gradeI’m very familiar with the 6.5 Creedmoor both for long distance shooting and hunting; zero experience with its 6mm cousinread this from the Precision Rifle Blog, which will give you the facts from an expert). Plus the Ruger American Compact in .45 ACP; the military Glocks 17 and 19 on the near horizon; “boutique” manufacturers spinning out new 1911s, M1 Carbines, little tiny concealed carry pistols, fill in the blanks.
Anyone have any experience with this 110 round magazine for a Ruger 10/22? That looks like it would be fun.
From Steve, a go fund me:
The book and documentary are about an ingenious bank bomber who created time bombs, with seven month long timers, in 1971. He planted them in safety deposit boxes around the US and then disappeared, until 1986 when he was captured in San Francisco.
Korean airlines to allow crews to use stun guns to subdue violent passengers.
A Trump 45 1911. This is the second Trump gun I’ve seen. The first being an AR.
Words that are fun to say: Puckle.
They have all that gun control: 48 Shot, 11 Fatally, In Christmas Weekend Shootings In Chicago
From me to all you guys. Hope you have a wonderful holiday season. Light blogging for a bit.
Some holiday cheer:
And a repeat:
Actual headline: Pretty pink pistols just as deadly, warn police
You mean it’s still a gun even though it’s pink?
The Russians hacked into the Ukrainian power grid and disabled power. That’s a little scary.
A list of top Christmas movies that fails to list the best Christmas movie of all time:
He looks at the differences and concludes it’s not made by Colt:
Well, it is a lower end AR-15. And only the receiver appears to be Colt. And I don’t see the point in even having a fake forward assist. Why even leave it on there?
But, yeah, the 6920 is pretty much the standard.
The EU is looking to expand gun controls because Islamic terrorists attacks past.
Cool looking CNC forward grip. I’m a fan of the Magpul AFG myself. But that looks interesting.
Yo, dawg I heard you liked attaching stuff to your stuff so we built a thing that let’s you attach stuff to your other stuff that you attach stuff to.
Gun ownership has traditionally been associated with the right wing in America but the election of Donald Trump has prompted some left-wingers to join gun clubs – and even start preparing for the collapse of society.
It’s a lot of hand-wringing silliness. But welcome to the club, guys.
In South Carolina, there is a proposed bill that will require carry permit holder to put an identifying sticker on their license plates.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
