Smith and Wesson shareholders vote to change name

So reports John Richardson:

Smith & Wesson Holding Company (SWHC), the parent company of such brands as Smith & Wesson, Crimson Trace, and Battenfield Technologies, reported today that shareholders approved the requested corporate name change. Effective January 2017, the new holding company name will be American Outdoors Brand Corporation.

That is such a lame name.

What to do instead of something.

  3. NotClauswitz Says:

    That’s just sad, really-really sad.

Why would anyone get worked up about this? As I understand it, the gun company known as Smith and Wesson will still be Smith and Wesson…the company that owns the gun company known as Smith and Wesson, will no longer be called Smith and Wesson Holdings.

It means they’ll be selling tents and mountain bikes to unsuspecting “Progressive” anti-gun vegan hikers.

I worked for a company called Fusion Semiconductor that became a subdivision of Eaton Inc., which shortly renamed us Axcelis. I moved on to Motorola, which spun off its semiconductor group as Freescale Semiconductors, which was bought by a consortium led by Blackstone Group LP with Carlyle Group, Permira and TPG Capital, which then sold us to NXP, which is now selling out to Quallcom.

My job was the same under each name and company change.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
