I’m sure it’s by design
About what I’d expect. Except they get some things very wrong:
The next step apparently is a renewed effort to pass a constitutional carry law in Tennessee, which would eliminate the necessity of obtaining a permit to carry a gun, with its requirement that the permit holder must undergo training in how to handle deadly weapons.
There is no training required to get a permit. One must take a class that goes over self-defense law. And then one must qualify by scoring 70% at a generous target. No real requirement for training. And they add a bit of hysteria:
One can only imagine how many fender-benders, arguments over parking spots, domestic squabbles and the like will deliver a cascade of grief and regret to the families and friends of innocent victims.
The press said the same thing about carry permits and that didn’t manifest into reality.
Tactical Solutions TSAR-223. I have the 10/22 equivalent barrel, so as not to pay the tax stamp err wait 6 months to get .gov approval.
Glock 19 Gen4 commences 2,000 round test.
Eight years ago, I’d have never thought you’d see this at the NRA: The Past, Present and Future of Suppressors Together at NRA Headquarters
Tam, on Lessons from ECQC:
For instance, since ECQC I’ve finally started practicing something I’d long preached and began carrying a can of Fox Labs OC around with me. It’s become more important to me to have a solid middle ground option between “harsh language” and “bust a cap in someone’s ass”.
I had kept a larger can in the truck. Now, I’ve ordered some in the handy keychain size. I’m gonna need more pockets.
The Echo Dot for $40. I snagged a couple so I can have Alexa in multiple rooms. And it’s size appeals to me. Don’t need the good speakers in the bedroom, after all.
So, Miss Sloane, a piece of anti-gun propaganda disguised as a movie, had a horrible open.
The director of the movie said he didn’t consult The Brady Campaign to Remain Relevant. But the Brady Camp says otherwise. And the actors even met with them.
Well, OK. Or rather AOKW:
The basics of stockpiling food. I keep a decent supply of food around. It’s important that you stock stuff you actually eat. For instance, we use a lot of chicken stock. I keep between 2 to 3 cases on hand, and replace with a new case after one has depleted. Same for other things we use regularly, like stewed tomatoes, beans, rice, peas, corn, etc. Amazon’s subscribe and save is our friend.
And gun cleaning tips.
Seen on twitter:
And gun nuts are the violent ones. Also, do you want to get shot? Because that’s how you get shot.
They’re leaving Cali and headed to America. Arizona, specifically. Also, they are now selling threaded barrels:
I’m fan of Apex products and have their triggers and other parts on all of my M&Ps, except one. I like to keep a stock gun around for some reason.
Heh: Glock v. Sodastream. I have both and the Glock is definitely handier. The Sodastream is still pretty handy though.
Seems a few folks’ comments are getting gobbled up by my spam filter. I try to monitor it but, frankly, I get so many spam comments per day, it’s difficult to keep up with. So, if it happens to you, it’s not personal. But let me know. One hint is stop using the word socialism. Because it contains the name of common ED drug that spammers like to spam about.
Watch as this guy almost puts a .45 caliber hole in his hand:
A guy in Knoxville was in some sort of traffic dispute. He shot and killed the other person involved and then shot and killed himself. The shooter had a carry permit.
I can imagine getting upset at other drivers. Getting upset enough to shoot one, not so much.
Congress has launched a Congressional Second Amendment Caucus. They are looking to pass pro-gun bills and undo several decades worth of erosion to second amendment protections.
If you ask me where has been the one area where I feel that I’ve been most frustrated and most stymied, it is the fact that the United States of America is the one advanced nation on Earth in which we do not have sufficient common sense gun safety laws
You never proposed any. You proposed gun control that has been proven ineffectual everywhere it has been tried.
Gun-rights backers vow to ‘go on offense’ during Trump years
Firearms enthusiasts who embraced Donald Trump’s campaign and his full-throated support of the Second Amendment are expecting a sweeping expansion of gun rights under his administration and a Congress firmly in Republican hands.
Among their priorities: eliminating gun-free zones at schools, reducing requirements for background checks and ensuring that concealed carry handgun permits from one state are recognized everywhere in the U.S.
It’s from LaPierre’s statement I mentioned before. I don’t see the hearing protection act mentioned.
The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said a buckle attached to a thigh holster likely contributed to a deputy accidentally firing his gun.
In early November, a Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputy was in the area of Church and Gearhart Avenues when his gun fired while still in the holster — injuring the deputy’s leg. The deputy was treated and release from the hospital the same day.
Investigators with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said the equipment was inspected and tested. They believe a part of the buckle got caught between the trigger and the holster, causing the gun to fire.
What sort of buckle would be near a holster?
Made by Shell Shock Industries, a two-piece casing that lightens the cartridge, can be picked up with a magnet, and is reloadable:
Neat.
So, Sandy Hook Promise made some silly video that implies reading gun magazines may be a sign you’re about to go on a mass shooting. Well, it looks like they stole it from a filmmaker who isn’t too happy about it. He even did a side by side comparison:
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
