Like a gun library
A recent MO rule bans people who enter the capitol from carrying guns. Well, one state rep is none too happy about it. And he’s put a sign on his door saying that he will loan guns to anyone with a carry permit:
Effective immediately, any constituent of mine with a CCW that was not allowed to bring his firearm into the Capitol may stop by my office and borrow one for the duration of the visit
Heh.

Any constituent? Like loons from Ferguson, hoping to ‘prove a point’?

@Tim, loons from Ferguson with a CWP (CCW)? How many of those do you reckon there are?
But you know, there are places where such a loam would constitute an “illegal transfer”. That there aren’t more places like that is due in no small part to the gentleman who stopped in my son’s jewelry shop today:

Sorry for linking to the old blog, but it’s the only way I could figure how to put up a pic, and this guy has been and still is fighting the good fight for 2A rights even in the face of the most anti administration of our lifetime.

Double “Heh”.
Good move Mr. MO State Rep.

JTC:
That link is “by invitation only”.
Any chance of opening it up, or perhaps posting it somewhere accessible to “non-invitees”?

JTC. Can’t read the link.
This blog is open to invited readers only
It doesn’t look like you have been invited to read this blog. If you think this is a mistake, you might want to contact the blog author and request an invitation.

JTC, I didn’t mean any offense. Suspect most of the actual ‘loons’ in Ferguson are too ignorant or lazy to get a CCW, although many would likely qualify (“never convicted!”).

It would be interesting to see if the rule forbids the possession of a gun in the state house, or just bringing it in. I hope none of his constituents winds up a in trouble with the law.

Sorry about that…

Is Tim the kind of person that wants to keep people from carrying guns?
January 15th, 2017 at 1:06 am
No offense, but you’re all missing the point. This sends a message. It draws attention to the absurdity and unfairness of these gun laws. Elected officials are us. We are them. They are not our betters. Our rights don’t terminate when we pass a threshold.

@DocMerlin, I don’t think that’s what he meant, no. I think he just doesn’t quite grok the truth that the good people in and around Ferguson MO who do or could legally carry, would be almost infinitesimally unlikely to be “loons” likely to come to the rep’s office, take him up on his “loaner”, and then use it to “make a point”…ain’t gonna happen. But the rep himself is definitely making one; good on him for it.
