The Trumpening
I listened to his inaugural address. He focused on things he said in the campaign, which I expected. May as well continue what works for you. He did spend a lot more time speaking about God and displaying religious beliefs than I expected of him.
And I rather enjoyed him calling out the establishment who benefits while others do not. Right there in front of the establishment.

It was a good speech. Not what anyone expected, not a collection of I and me statements like most.
The not-so-subtle reminder that this national experiment was founded on Judeo-Christian principles was wonderful (and a real kick in the pants to all the lefties and others who are constantly attacking those basic principles.)
His pledging to work for us, to give us back our country, was, well, wonderful.
Attacking the power elites in front of them was priceless.
Both my wife and I were in tears by the end of it. It truly was a beacon of real hope compared to the last 8 years.
Even if he achieves only 10% of what he wants to do, it will ‘fundamentally change’ the nation for the better.
Given his track record, 10% is about 90% short of what he normally achieves.

I as honestly struck by how calm & collected he was preceding the speech. Expected him to be “amp’d up”, but he looked like he might otherwise be strolling into a movie theater or reception. He’s clearly very comfortable with the gravity of immense responsibility.

I’ve been telling everybody, Vaclav Havel’s 1990 address was going to be the closest thing to the direction Trump would take with his.
