The dumbest thing you’ll see until tomorrow
Right here:
Fast forward to about the three minute mark.
Sparky, has it occurred to you to use a holster? I mean, I store all of my guns in a holster. Particularly the bed side gun.

Dude’s a cop, right?
January 29th, 2017 at 11:23 pm
Is he trying to make a case for a grip safety?
I can’t tell.
January 30th, 2017 at 12:06 am
Huh? If storing or carrying in a holster elude his thinking, he doesn’t like firearm safety either.

Rule #2, anyone?
Also I thought GLOCK vs. 1911 had been fought to a draw sometime in two thousand and late…

This is why I don’t like knives. You could wake up, reach in a drawer and cut yourself. What a maroon.
January 30th, 2017 at 2:33 am
Geebus. Dude, get a clue. Buy a cheap Fobus and keep it in that in your night table. Or get a Maxpedition pouch. I carry Beretta’s or Sig’s and I always have them in a holster, even when i have the weapon in a bag.

Well, if you’re so disoriented after waking up or so clumsy that you put your fingers all over the inside of a drawer (try LOOKING)that you’re likely to negligently fire your pistol, maybe you should keep it unloaded. It’s not like it takes very long to load a magazine and rack the slide.

Breathtakingly stupid. But hey, at least he recognizes how hazardous a Glock can be in HIS hands and has sought to remedy it with a grip safety. That counts for something doesn’t it. Well it does right?
January 30th, 2017 at 11:48 am
@Russ: agreed.
For the rest of us who are careful with gun storage, it’s nice to know guys like this will be raised as the penultimate gun owner by MSNBC the moment his stupidity catches up with him.

Yeah anyway, the NRA basic pistol course emphasizes STRONGLY that one should never rely on safety mechanisms. We’re forced to repeat it;
“What is a safety?”
“A mechanical device, WHICH CAN FAIL!”
The guy who taught our instructor’s course kept a used gun he’d bought for the sole reason that it would fire while on “safe”. He brought it to all his classes.
Also; thumb on grip safety, finger on trigger…BANG. No grip on the gun required. Just two points of contact.
Those who carry Glocks learn to use them. For the person who’s accustomed to a certain mechanism, anything different will require some practice.
You’re entitled to your opinion, sure, but you’re not entitled to foist your own alternate physical reality upon others. Where, for example, are the stats which show us the awful dangers of Glock ownership? If you were correct, given the number of Glocks in everyday use there’d be a mountain of evidence to support it. All you had to do was show us the numbers.
So it is that, in cases of physical reality, opinions don’t count. You don’t really have the right to your own opinion, because any opinion at all is a denial of reality. You may as well give us your own, alternate version of the Gravitational Constant, while saying you have the “right to your own opinion”. It makes no more sense than saying that, in your OPINION, the Earth has no atmosphere. This reminds me of the “consensus” argument for AGW. Consensus and opinion have nothing to do with science.

So.. Let’s see. He hates Glocks so he bought one. That should tell you something right there. Anyone want to buy a used Glock real cheap?
January 30th, 2017 at 2:46 pm
I don’t like Glock’s because the are uncomfortable for me to hold. Same Same SIG’s. That’s why I don’t own one. I keep a 1911 in the “box by the bed” and an 870 above the door on a “high rack”. Truly the internet is a place where anyone may voice his or her opinion. No matter the IQ (or lack of) of the maker of said opinion.
January 30th, 2017 at 4:02 pm
Yeah, I really hate guns that discharge when you pull the trigger. What a pain in the ass that is. Pfffft, whatever!
Anyhow, I am with Ray, Glocks just don’t fit my hand really well. Not buying a gun because it can go off when you pull the trigger is a bad reason not to buy a gun.

I don’t like Glocks because they don’t hit my happy button. Life is too short to work with firearms that don’t make me happy. There are all kinds of great guns out there. Might as well pick the ones you like. 🙂
