Journalism
The media and guns rarely fails to deliver:
Grown man freaked out over common tool: Thats when I noticed something remarkable: Both had strapped onto their waists angry-looking handguns.
School librarian photographed holding a gun. Local news organization implies she’s going to shoot children over late books and feels the need to disclose her salary.
Headline of hysteria over a black gun rights activist. Racist.

“Both had strapped onto their waists angry-looking handguns.”
Because inanimate objects have emotions. I mean; a mere gun is one thing, but a pissed off gun is something else entirely.
That, or admit that you’re bat-shit insane and seek treatment.
Or did the gun owners in question have their guns painted with the Flying Tigers shark teeth and angry eyes?

“Or did the gun owners in question have their guns painted with the Flying Tigers shark teeth and angry eyes?”
Now there’s a idea! That might look pretty cool.

My CZ is done up in a Boba Fett color scheme… does that mean it’s a mercenary?

Lyle, I don’t know about you, but when my handguns get all angry-looking, I leave them in the safe to think things over and won’t take them out of the house until their attitude improves.

Dude’s a pretty good humor columnist; that shit was funny!

It’s cultural and that takes a long time to correct.
This weekend I took my sister-in-law’s father to shoot some pistols. He’s from New York, but is pro-gun and he owns and routinely shoots shotguns and rifles. He asked me if he was allowed to shoot my pistols under my license. He was amazed that I could just show up at the range with a box full of ammo and some pistols and let him shoot them. He asked about concealed carry and couldn’t believe how easy it is to get a permit or that open carry was permit-less.
We had some good range time and he just kept saying.. “I gotta move south.”

Maybe I missed some law changes, but if I remember correctly isn’t there a federal level law about an age requirement of 21 to purchase a handgun. If I am correct which I believe I am, then the point about an 18 year old carrying is absolutely wrong in the article. Which is not a surprise. Especially since journalism today seems more about framing your prose than the reporting of accurate facts.

In fairness about the Salary thing; in most states Public Employees salaries are Public Info, and would fall under the FOIA.

Chris… yes it is, but why is it pertinant to the story? Just like her address, for example, why would that need to be published?
They were attempting to smear her.

Did the angry pistols have mad-face stickers on them or something?
February 21st, 2017 at 3:54 pm
Todd, that only applies to FFLs, not private persons. For example, in Alabama Joe Smith can sell a pistol to a 19 year old, but the gun shop down the street can’t.

Todd: 18-20 year olds can legally get a gun from their parents.
And I believe in some/many states, from a private non-FFL purchase, but I’m less sure on that.
So it can happen, even under our illiberal “not a real adult” laws.

@Todd Plus the Federal law about the age for possessing a handgun is different from the age for purchasing a handgun.

how do you know the handgun’s angry? it’s gone all green and started chambering .500, and you do not like it anymore.

I would consider this an “angry-looking handgun”, but until it comes out of the holster, you would be hard pressed to see the teeth (with the exception of the highly unlikely case that they were rocking race gun holsters on their way to the drugstore).
