So the Caracal I shot at ORSA had sights similar to the Glock in question, though they were attached to the slide rather than machined into it, and I was happily banging away at steel plates at 10 yards all day long.
You can probably blame the guttersnipe sight concept for the whole family of… whatever.
I’m with HL on the “trench sights”. Aside from having no adjustment whatsoever, solving a largely non-existent problem and being poorly executed, it’s not an altogether terrible idea. “You want no-snag sights, here’s your no-snag sights.” If it’s a thing, someone will be take it to the nth degree. Also there are guns that have nothing but the trench as an aiming system.
Just to point out, in the “Blogger Made the Big Time” department.
That article on the Beretta was written by Jay Grazio, of the former “Stuck in Massachusetts” (now, just simply “Marooned” http://www.ma-rooned.com/ ) blog.
Might seem a small thing, but it’s worth a mention, I think. So, I did.

Hopefully the APX will have a trigger on par with the VP9.
AS for the Glock sights…I suppose that is clever thinking, if poorly executed.
