Underwear blogging
Seven years ago, I mentioned that I was switching to ExOfficio underoos. Before that, I would buy the Hanes or whatever brand of boxer briefs at the local merchant and within a month, the elastic in the legs would wear out on them. I’ve now been wearing and blogging aboutwearing and blogging abou ExOfficios for seven years. And just this past weekend, I threw the first pair away. After 7 years, the elastic in the legs on them finally wore out. Elastic around waist is still good. I figured I got my money’s worth. You can buy them here.

“have a plan to kill everybody you meet, and be comfortable doing it”
Isn’t that what Mattis said?

Hanes is terrible; less than a year’s life. Same experience.
Fruit of the loom lasts a few years for me.

Fred, it was “Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.”“

I’ve been extremely happy with the Jockey brand “stretch cotton” lines of underwear. They’re miles above the Hanes garbage, but a lot cheaper than ExOfficio. They usually have a “buy 2, get 1 free” deal at the outlet mall. So I get 9 pairs for about $65-$70, and they last me for years.
I had been using these:

But this new line that came out last year is REALLY comfortable:

As for how long they last, I can’t say for sure, since the original “classic stretch boxers” I had burned up in a fire. Buy what I’ve got now ranges from new to a couple years old, and I can’t tell which is which.

I discovered exofficio underwear while hiking. Long backpacking trips and cotton underwear spell disaster. After wearing the exofficio briefs on two 12 day hiking trips I decided they were great and started wearing them daily. Btw, two pair for a 12 day hike. I no longer have any cotton underwear. I have mostly exoficcio and a few pair of REI wicking briefs. All good. Hiking also converted me to Marino wool socks. That is all I wear now, summer or winter.

I bought some Exoffico based on your post 7 years ago; not sure I thanked you back then.
Thanks!
