Well, if OC is illegal, and the cops see a glimpse of your CCW gun, like Florida, and Texas a while ago, then you get in trouble.

But if you OC with a sock on your gun, it is still concealed, I guess, from a legal standpoint.

As JT says, in Florida, it is illegal for any part of your weapon is visible, you have just committed a crime, unless you are hunting, fishing, camping, at the range, or a few other situations.

Yeah, my first thought was it’s for a sort of concealed/open carry.

Interestingly I’ve taken trips to Texas the past two years in a row and there are “No Guns” signs posted everywhere. Their open carry legalization combined with anti-gun efforts really put the fear of God into shopowners to post signs banning guns.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
