So Chicago has over 1000 gunshot victims this year, and it is only April? And of those shot only about 180 have died.
That is a death rate far less than 1 in 5 for gunshot victims in the Windy City, less than the chances of a woman being sexually assaulted in college, or so I have read.
Stats are horribly susceptible to misuse, illegitimate comparisons, and confusing conflation.
