After the shooting
Looks like the SHARE act hearing has been cancelled. And it’s uncertain if it will be rescheduled.
Sebastian: This isnt a good situation to be in. It was assassinations that brought us the Gun Control Act of 1968.
Yeah, it’s not good for the gun rights side after this.

Best way to ensure it moves forward is to contact your Congress people and make it clear that you want the SHARE act to be brought forward despite the tragic incident.

“be brought forward despite the tragic incident.”
Actually, BECAUSE OF the tragic incident. The Donks would not hesitate to leverage today’s carnage for their aim. Nor should we for ours.
It’s time to show no shame for it.

That and waiting on a decision re: Peruta. Funny how there seems to always be an incident like today double feature just before Congress starts debate.

This shooting demonstrates conclusively that the right to choose armed self defense is an absolute necessity for everyone. But for the presence of Rep Scalise, one of the Congressional leadership who have Capitol Police protection, there would’ve been only unarmed victims for a massacre. Gun control laws against the people which prevent the basic human right of armed self defense declared in the 2nd Amendment are an outrageous criminal violation by the Federal, State and local governments. According to the 10th Amendment, the Federal government may do NOTHING without having been delegated the power to do so. There is NO delegated power in enumerated in Article I, Section 8 for gun control over the people!

If somebody showed up at your door every morning and took half of your money would you care if they got shot?

Well, half the DemProgs are out calling for gun control. The other half are calling for the violence against Republicans and Trump supporters to be more organized. They may try to pass more gun control, but it will only bring defiance and civil war. In 1968, the politics were still civil. Now one side is advocating violence and the mainstream media are radicalizing people like today’s shooter.
There are students being permitted to “patrol” Evergreen College campus with bats looking for those who disagree with them.

We’re screwed.
The Donks will scream for more restrictions.
The Stupid Party, in fear for their lives, will cave.
The shooting, for keeps, starts late summer.
Yeah, I’m a cynic … but I don’t think I’m wrong.

The police have evolved since 1968 and that summer’s riots. Expect Antifa and BLM riots to be more like Berkeley 2017, or at worst Baltimore 2016, and less like LA in 1992, or Detroit in 1968, or any weekend in Chicago. And expect Trump to put up with it not at all.

mikee:
Never forget that being a cop is a JOB. Most of them will not act like the military. LA ’92 is always on the board.
