One handed is the way I always shoot handguns. The 2handed stance feels awkward and restrictive to me.
One handed shooting worked just fine for folks like James Butler (Wild Bill) Hickok, Doc Holliday, Jeff Kidder, etc. So there’s no reason why it would’nt be effective today.
When Sam Colt invented his revolver, the average 12-year old girl had stronger hands than the average male of today. I’m not exaggerating by much — they chopped wood, milked cows, carried water in buckets, wrung out the laundry by hand, managed the reins of horse teams in wagons and buggies … you get the picture. Now most of our young men thumb iPhones.

If you shot the precision disciplines, you would know how to do this. 🙂

IDPA courses of fire frequently require strong or weak hand only engagement. I urge everyone to go shoot these.

I already know how I shoot one handed. I shoot “worse” with one hand.

I agree with Huck, but for some reason, single actions point better, and seem to work better one handed than autos.
Sam Colt knew something…
