The Trace article says those evil maufuactures side skirted the laws by continuing to make the Tec-9 with minor cosmetic alterations so they comply with the law, while somehow maintaining the glaring disconnect that “assault weapons” are banned because of minor cosmetic differences- as we’ve been saying for decades.
TS, you mean something like the ongoing California saga of the Bullet Button, or the MA AG outlawing “assault rifles” that were modified to be in compliance with the law?

“ARs are Assault Rifles, thus the pistol versions must be Assault Pistols” … is actually valid enough logic in itself.

The term “assault pistol” has been around for as long as the Kalifornistan assault weapon ban has existed.

Maryland still bans “assault pistols”. Has since 1994.
