Hmmmm….maybe I should just find a company I really hate, and give them all my money.

    Prolem sloved.

In my experience, media have the ad blocker blockers – and I just punch out. Maybe the answer is something that, instead of blocking the ads, just accepts them and routes them to the bit bucket?

Yup, catch em at the edge. Pfsense + pfBlockerNG works very well for this.

They’re already a thing. Most adblockers have them or can have them installed, though they don’t always work well.

I use ‘ad block plus’. Sometimes you have to manually add blocking rules, but used skillfully, it works very well. Some sites can sense it and block content, but I find myself going to those sights less and less.

Reminds me of the cold-war of the 55mph speed limit:
    – First, the Traffic G*ds gave us Radar Guns.
    – Then, the radio engineers gave us Radar Detectors.
    – Then, the Traffic G*ds gave us Radar Detector Detectors.
    – Then, the radio engineers gave us Radar Detector Detector Detectors.
    – Then …
Ultimately, vehicles could become so heavy, they would not go over 55mph anyway …

Similarly, life in the future means that every browser and website will be locked-down so hard, NO data will flow anywhere.

uBlock Origin has an element hider that allows you to block everything on a page except the content you visited for.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
