Common sense gun safety
My recommendation is for the school to consider implementing a quasi-school security program that puts retired law enforcement and military veterans on Sarasota County campuses. Members would be contracted through the schools however, our agency will be made available to put them through the proper training. I have spoken with the superintendent who agrees this can be a win-win for everyone.
An idea that may actually work.

An armed population of unknowns is actually a better deterrent and don’t our indoctrination centers look enough like prisons. We don’t need screws in schools. Arm the teachers.

A number of states have Enhanced Permits. So let’s have Super-enhanced permits that let people carry in schools. Make the qualification test the same as for police officers. They would be available to everyone but I suspect the main market would be teachers and staff. It will be amusing to hear leftists howl that the criteria isn’t strict enough.

Government; “Whatever you do, make sure it costs a bunch of MONEY.”
You couldn’t possibly just get out of the way and let those who want to carry concealed do so (no more “gun free” zones). That doesn’t cost money. Also no one can take credit for just fucking off and staying out of the way– It has to be a “program” with rules, implementors, and a hierarchy.

The left does NOT want schools protected by guns, especially in the hands of teachers, principals and other adult staff. It’s worked in Israel for decades. They know it would work. It would pretty much end their reactionary, authoritarian citizen disarmament agenda.

Since the school shooting in Florida the local Leo’s have been trying to have a visual presence before and after school while the parents are dropping Kids off and picking them up….
That’s right, they are using this opportunity to write speeding ticket and increase their revenues.

That Marx quote isn’t a real Marx quote, afaik. It doesn’t seem to be in the Communist Manifesto.

The more people not associated with the Education Industry who spend time in our schools, the more the schools and their failures will be criticized appropriately and with details. I, for one, want to see not just retired LEOs and vets in the schools, but also local business owners, STEM workers, and parents.
When, not if, they see something, here’s hoping they say something, and keep saying it until things are made better in the schools.

After several of the notable school shootings, the owner of the FrontSight Firearms Training school offered to train a few personnel from schools for free. I’ve never heard of any schools accepting his offer.
