Well, we saw this one coming
I’m sure this will go well:
Department of Justice moves to ban bump stocks, classifying them as ‘machine guns’ under federal law
One would think that this would be something the Congress would have to do. But now that we’re ruled by unelected bureaucrats, that’s not required. And the president told them to do it.

What I was promised: National Reciprocity and the Hearing Protection Act
What I expected: “It’s just not the right time, see, because there’s an election in three and a half years, and….”
What I’m getting: Accessory Bans and millions more people getting thrown into the prohibited persons category.

The SECRET, ARBITRARY, “no fly, no buy list” and “universal background checks” should help get that done, both of which trample the 4th and 5th Amendments. Liberals once considered those sacrosanct, but now are “all in” with authoritarianism as are some supposed conservatives, who I suppose, are conserving power in the hands of the government.

A pen and a phone Trumps the constitution.
Only trouble is, the constitution was Trumped generations ago. It was never fully in force.

All guns will soon be machine guns.

The sooner the right jumps off the Trump Train, the better.

Interestingly, CNBC fails to note that the DoJ previously said that this move was illegal.

“Trump told them to do it.”
Trump told them to try to do it. Notice he grabs on to a bunch of impractical and ill-defined measures supported by lefties, feigns support, and then sits back and waits for them to embarrass themselves trying to turn that into specifics.
It’s been a pretty successful tool.

But they are playing with fire; as discussed on the other post if they can define them and then classify them as MG’s, do thousands of upstanding citizens become instant felons and everything that means?

“It’s been a pretty successful tool.”
Trump will have been a pretty successful tool. He’s the antithesis to the Democrat’s thesis (the “good cop” to the “bad cop”), and the result will have been a pre-determined synthesis for which we will all pay.
We’ll thank him for it too, as we pay that price, and we’ll tell one another; “Just think of how much worse it would have been without Trump!” This is how freedom dies…with our support and even our applause.

If it would only ban bump stocks I wouldn’t terribly mind but it will be so vaguely worded that match triggers and some gunsmith action jobs may get caught up in it.

“This is how freedom dies…with our support and even our applause.”
Same as it ever was.

These “Trump is playing 8-D chess” explanations would be hilarious if our rights weren’t getting dumped down the drain by so called conservatives.

And now some snarky wags are saying the successes of gun rights proponents and the crushing defeats of grabbers are somehow independent and mutually exclusive of Trump and his influence. Sad how personal feelings can overwhelm observable facts even for smart people.
