Mexico re-valued the pesos a while back, to good effect. Of course, they also changed the government at around the same time. Hmmm, there’s an idea for Venezuela!

I don’t think commies are stupid. Let’s call them authoritarians though– In so doing we get all of them (socialists, Marxists, Fascists, Progressives, imperialists, Democrats, Republicans, Catholics, fake Jews, Muslims, mercantilists, etc., etc., etc.; whatever they want to call themselves this week, or whatever lies and excuses they rely on, they’re still greedy, they still favor coercion over liberty, still lust for power over others). “The criminal class” works too, but it’s too esoteric for a lot of people to understand. “The Rulers of Evil” is a title, and that name fits quite well, but it’s also obscure.

By any name, they must be damned brilliant if they can fool civilization after civilization into falling into their nets. It’s hard to look at success after success after success in destroying whole nations and call authoritarianism’s movers and shakers stupid.

You may think evil is stupid, but there’s stupid evil and there’s evil genius—They run the whole gamut, from blatant to wondrously subtle. It’s hard to look at thousands of years of successes in ravaging whole nations, even continents, like swarms of locusts and call it stupid. We do ourselves a disservice calling such clever evil stupid– So long as we underestimate the enemy we’ll be unable to overcome it.

What’s wrong with us, is the question. We let the authoritarians, like The Mixed Multitudes, blend in with us, even into our own homes, pandering to them, speaking their languages and practicing their practices because we’re ignorant and weak in spirit. We’re the “stupid” ones if we can’t make the distinction between good and evil, drawing a solid line between the two and calling them by their right names.

Actually, going to the dollar isn’t a bad move, it broke the inflation in Zimbabwe, as they can’t
“Just print more” – it is actually bad for the US, but

  4. Ravenwood Says:

Zimbabwe actually ran out of the money they were using to print money…. since they outsourced the printing (to a firm in Europe I believe), and they demanded to be paid in Euros.. up front.

People use to use wheelbarrows full of money to pay for goods. Eventually they bartered for goods or used foreign currency that didn’t lose it’s value by lunch time.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
