Zuck you
So, I caught part of Mark Zuckerberg’s testimony or whatever at the Senate. That was embarrassing both for the senators and Zuck. For instance, when a senator asked why facebook bought instagram the answer should have been “because I can” or “none of your business”. He acquiesced to many of their bizarre calls for regulation and so forth. And was apologetic in tone. I guess he forgot they work for him.
And the senators clearly had no idea what they were talking about or how facebook worked. And this made me laugh:
Are you a mildly tech-literate politico horrified by the level of ignorance demonstrated by lawmakers gearing up to regulate online technology they don't even begin to grasp? Cool. Now you have a tiny glimpse into a day in the life of a gun owner.

Indeed.

I LOVE that quote by Davis!
“He acquiesced to many of their bizarre calls for regulation and so forth. And was apologetic in tone.”
Of course (hopefully you expected nothing else). You know that Zuck-head has been a de facto member of the DC apparatchik since the Obama years. You think he’d do an “about-Zuck-face” and turn on his comrades-in-arms all of a sudden? Why?
The singular purpose of that dog and pony show was to cement the false ideal of government control over information. You can therefore comfortably dismiss any of the details, pondering them no more at all.
Well OK, there’s a secondary purpose to all of these charades; to annoy, upset and agitate you (see previous statement). So long as you’re upset, frustrated and arguing over and expounding on the details, and the blatant stupidity (another feature, which is not at all a bug by any stretch), that’s less time and energy you’re spending on the big picture. So; win, win.
Also; Government and industry working together, ostensibly for The People. That’s as good a definition of Fascism as any, and you saw it on display in full color. Welcome to the New America, Suckers.

You see… The internet is a series of tubes…

Regulation = barrier to entry = harder to dislodge incumbents. Facebook is an incumbent. No mystery why it wants some level of regulation – makes it harder for competitors to arise.

“To make money” is the only appropriate answer for a business acquisition.

If you believe Zucky dreamed-up Fu@ckbook in his tiny Harvard dorm room, all on his own, (with no help whatsoever from any alphabet agency), I’ve got this really nice bridge for sale …

Since Zuckerpig is an open borders guy I assume he is anti-guns.

@ExpatNJ, I think you’re correct.
@Joseph Constable, yes on both for us, but not for himself on either. It sure looked like he was surrounded by bodyguards walking in. Typical of politicians and the wealthy elite, they restrict or take from us what they have and keep for themselves.
