Vinnie Paul RIP
Pantera founder and all around bad ass drummer Vinnie Paul has died. My world is a little darker today. I hope he’s somewhere with his brother riffing. Pantera is my favorite band ever.
It will be a good soundtrack as I do some carpentry today.

Dang. That sucks. I saw them play at Joe’s Garage in Ft. Worth back in 1988 before they hit it really big. Excellent show and very talented musicians. Never knew them personally, but I know people who went to high school with Vinnie and Darrel. Wish I had even a 10th Of their talent.

One of my hometown neighbors. Younger than I.
I may have met him in 1974. RIP Vinnie Paul.

I lean more to the old school (Sabbath, Dio, etc.) but my son is a Panterra fan. He was depressed for weeks after Dime got shot. I hope they are together, pissing off the other angels with all that godforsaken noise. R.I.P.

“I hope he’s somewhere with his brother riffing.”
Since two of you brought up the issue of an afterlife in the pagan/heathen/spiritualist version, I’ll bring it up in the a biblical version;
When you’re dead you’re dead. Your spirit doesn’t wander around, nor go to heaven or hell, or to “purgatory” or anywhere else. All of that is made up, having no Biblical foundation.
Believe what you want, but at least understand where it came from.
The Scriptures on the other hand say that you die and that’s that, until the time of the resurrection. Like being asleep, you’re not aware of jack squat.
It’s weird, isn’t it, how the Scriptural version is nowhere to be found in media, and yet the heathen-pagan (Roman/Egyptian/Babylonian/pan-theist) and occultist versions are plastered everywhere? No? And we don’t even wonder about the differences because we’re not aware of them, because….why?
But don’t take my word for any of it, please.
