Not necessarily. Don’t fall into the “thesis/antithesis” trap.
It is just as likely that neither of you live in reality. Perhaps it is even more likely, being that there is presumably only one reality while there would be an infinite number of possible non-realities. The so-called Hegelian Dialectic uses two non-realities, blends them together is some fashion, and then declares that the pre-determined resulting Thesis is the reality.
To say, “THIS is reality, baby!” is always arrogant, and condescending, and it makes you an asshole, that is, unless it is true, in which case it is a simple statement of fact. But in the later case you are still an asshole because no one wants to hear the truth, nor do they want to be compared to the truth which is their enemy.
If you are searching for the truth, it is probably best to look where most everyone else refuses to look. If you should find it, you will then become a pariah, and be attacked for it. So it is prophesized.
You are guaranteed to be attacked if you are so bold as to speak the truth, but being attacked is no guarantee that you’ve found the truth. You could just be a dumb asshole.
One thing is absolutely certain; if it is widely popular is it NOT the truth. We can take some comfort in that much, at least.
