Bump stock ban soon?
The issue just sort of seemed to go away. But Trump is now saying that it’s coming in a few weeks. And that he’s told the NRA that. He then explains to the press about the rules and regulations. And public hearings. Trouble is, this plan is exactly wrong. To enact such a ban would require a law passed by congress. Not the interpretative legal gymnastics that occur at bureaucracies.

I was promised National Reciprocity and the Hearing Protection Act.
I got a bumpstock ban.
This is like that time where my choice for president was between a guy who banned semi-automatic weapons and Barack Obama. I was actually kinda relieved that Obama had won when Sandy Hook happened a few weeks later. A Republican Congress would want to show their constituents how tough they are by shooting down any new legislation, but if Romney had one they’d be falling all over themselves to “do something.”

If it were a democrat doing the banning I might not be the only one that seems to care.

Sounds like classic Trump misdirection…lip service to do something that sounds good but can’t actually be done, eventually to just be forgotten. Could be.

JTC,
He kicked off a regulatory rule making process entirely controlled by bureeucrats. There’s no stopping it now. I was actually surprised he mentioned it at all since most people had already forgotten about it. I suspected the atf was going to wait until after the election to finalize the rule.

I’ll go with preemptive strike until proven otherwise. It is a gambit that has been effective before and based on that history innocent until proven guilty instead of the assbackwards application of that rule as administered by our friends to the left.
