    I can see the argument for why to do this. I’m not so sure about the argument for why not (other than the obvious “because it could get stolen”). Could you explain your reasons?

    The alternative is being unarmed for your entire trip to: post office, voting booth, and other off limits to carry locations. It isn’t always possible to avoid those places, so the alternative is 1)break the law or, 2) be unarmed for the entire outing

    I would love to have a bug-in or bug-out stash of firepower in my vehicle, but the idea of having all of that ripped off gives me the willies. I’ll stick to my personal sidearm, and keep my fingers and toes crossed I can get home to my main “arsenal” on 30 rounds or less should the SHtF. It will make holding and shooting, to say nothing of walking and running, very hard, but practice, practice, practice!

    There are ALL sorts of innovative storage designs – including lock-boxes for pistols to rifles – that enable in-vehicle securing of firearms and other valuables. Most can be permanently hidden and installed, and/or connected to alarm systems.

    But, IF you open-carry, or have any “break-in-here” stickers (NRA decals, etc) that advertise the fact your vehicle is so-equipped, you’ve already lost.

    Whether trying to conceal from cops or highway men (but, I repeat myself), never carry on-board what you can’t afford to lose.

    A little OT, but I haven’t seen good .22 for .05 round in a while…free ship and no tax if you’re not in SC.
