The Portland police are no longer allowed to carry exposed knives because someone got shot for grabbing one.

Someone got shot robbing a bank, so close all the banks.
We can play this all day;
Someone got shot trying to break into a house, so ban houses (or at least ban locks on houses so no one is “forced” to break in).
But ultimately;
Someone got shot trying to steal private property, so eliminate private property.

I especially like how it bans trauma shears and seatbelt cutters.
Neither of which is remotely useful as a plausible weapon.
(I mean, I live in Portland, so I’m used to this nonsense, but it’s still NONSENSE.)

when will Benchmade offer to dispose of the public’s knives?

tincan: Never? Because this isn’t Oregon City evidence disposal, and this is about PPD’s policy for its officers, not about “the public”.
