A good effort by Magpul PSA, and other out of state Magazine producers, but Judge Benitez issued a stay of his own ruling, effective Friday 5:00pm, which keeps the old 10-rounds-only law in place – except for everyone who received their new magazines before 5:00pm Friday.
What happens to every Californian who didn’t pay for overnight shipping and has a now-again-illegal normal capacity 30 round mag about to be delivered to their doorsteps? Imma guess CA AG Beccara will make them all convicted felons as quickly as possible to bolster his image as tough on gun crime!
Magpul, then based in Colorado, gave their entire inventory of 30 round mags away for free just before CO law changed to a limit of 10 rounds. I hope the CA gun shops do the same with unsold inventory. But I also hope they have no unsold inventory at 5:00pm local time.
I ask this rhetorically, but how come whenever the government abridges people’s freedom, there’s never a stay on behalf of the people while it makes its way through the courts (e.g. imposing the bump stock ban).
But whenever the people are fighting to restore their freedom, they always stay rulings on behalf of the government while it makes its way through the courts (e.g. overturning the magazine ban).
It’s not really news, but notice how the courts always seem to give government tyranny the benefit of the doubt over the freedom of the people.
I want to know why he issued a stay on his own order. Makes him appear to be all hat, no cattle. Why waste his time researching and writing that whole thing, only to throw it all away?

Well, it was good while it lasted.
The local gun shops JUST got theirs in… for the next 2.5 hours.

Too bad all those mags are permanently marked with the date and time of transfer. Otherwise nobody would know and they couldn’t enforce the ban.
