This seems like a big deal
U.S. Marine Corps Adopts SIG Sauer M18 Handgun
I’ve actually pondered getting the M17 just to have an Army gun. Odd I never felt that way about the Beretta 92.

Need a job? Come to NH. Sig is here and they have been growing massively since getting serious about chasing military contracts.

100 percent agree. Never cared for the M9. Tried in on the range and the grip was just to big.

Yeah, you probably don’t care much for bulky, recalcitrant, fat-bottomed women either. No love from me for the B92 ever.

Probably because it was clunky with poor ergonomics in the grip design and (on the ones I tried) a crappy trigger.
And the the safety was backwards (as opposed to the properly designed ones on the 1911 and Browning Hi-Power, I.E. as decreed by JMB, PBUH)

Good that Sig stayed in the northeast.

As a guy that did most of his growin’ up in the late 70s to the 80s, I had a certain fascination with the 92 series; it was everywhere on the tube, and more magazine covers than I want to think. That fascination stopped the moment I handled one on my 21st birthday, in a fantastic pawnshop that got tornadoed in Tuscaloosa a few years back.
the 320 fullsize that I did wind up buying fits my hand much more naturally, points better for me, and again, for me, puts up better groups than any of the berettas I’ve played around with. I’d love to have one of the m17 kits, because cool, but my wife would likely use the box to render me unconscious.

@Matt, you perfectly illustrate there my longstanding and totally unscientific methodology…again referencing the parallel to a woman:
Hold this fat-bottomed unbalanced unwieldy thing for a moment, then this here shapely, comely, comfortable one, then consider which one you might want to try to develop a relationship with.
