And seriously. A CNC machining center would have it’s own challenges in carving an AR lower out of a block of Ironwood.
But you could get pretty damn close to a cast alloy in strength. Add some metal bosses at all of the “pin” locations..(ALL of them, large and small), and the durability ought to be sufficient.
If you’re lucky, you can find a pretty block of Ironwood, and not just the usual dark lump of unwelcoming, tool-resistant wood grown from the LOLGF tree.
I’d pay to have one in my safe.
And yes, I’d tell liberals they could build one out of Balsa, no problem!
