If it is the bill I read, H.R. 282, it EXEMPTS all federal, state and local officials and agents, including even campus police AND their retirees. Furthermore, EXEMPTS private armed security so the rich and famous, many of whom support gun control for us, have what they want banned for their own protection. Criminals in government want to take from others what they keep for themselves.

@Ravenwood, me too. I should have said private armed security companies –exempted from laws against real private armed security, i.e., “the right of the People to keep and bear (carry) arms” for which the fedgov has NO delegated powers “for governing”.

The article says that it would outlaw most guns other than revolvers. I think that’s optimistic.
It depends a bit on the precise definition (if there is one), but the typical meaning of “semi-automatic” is “all you need to do to fire the gun again is to pull the trigger again”. That definition clearly includes double-action revolvers.

@pkoning, I think it’s semi-auto AND certain “one or more” features.
But ALL outrageously and criminally unconstitutional in addition to the gross inequality of exempting ruling and wealthy elites in VIOLATION of “the equal protection of the laws” (14th Amendment)

They can vote on it. They can pass it. They can get it signed into law. They cannot enforce it without a great deal of killing. I do not think they are up to it. If they think they are, it is time to tell them to do it or shut up.

@ Alien, Local and State LE cannot be compelled to enforce federal laws, just as with immigration laws. I would think there would be some “sanctuary” States and counties. Leftist cities would probably help the Feds go after citizen gun owners while coddling illegal aliens.

…..and I’m sure they would have no problem separating parents from their children–who violate gun laws.
