I’ve made the point before, back during the OC Texas deal, that some of these “experimenters”run the risk of CC’ers feeling the need to neutralize what can easily be taken by reasonable people as an active threat.
What was it back then, a couple yahoos barging front-slung with AK’s into a Chipotle or something? If I’m there with my family and their experiment was carried out as reported at the time, I’d have likely shot them or at least drew down on them…something I never felt compelled to do in nearly forty years behind the counter of relatively high-risk businesses like jewelry, pawn, and of course guns.
That out to tell the dumbasses something.

The Texas open carry laws were passed in large part because big city DAs were prosecuting lawful, licensed concealed carriers for “brandishing” when, for example, their firearms were momentarily exposed due to wind blowing open a suit jacket.
This Democrat antigun agitprop was stopped by the open carry law, in a manner identical to the previous “guns in cars” law, which stopped arrests in big cities for legally carrying a gun in your car while traveling.
The Iverson window on gun carry changed with those laws. Now some people are trying to move it further. If you can’t see someone with a slung AR and not think “terrorist” it is you who have the problem, not the gun carrying yahoo.

Yeah, I’ll call bullshit on that one.
Undisciplined yahoos acting out with no reason other than getting attention has zero to do with the decades long efforts by genuine rights activists to get back what (in Florida at least) was a preexisting (and rarely used) normalcy until traded off for CC.
Education and policy adjustment within LEO orgs to understand the difference between inadvertent exposure and brandishing to adjust their behaviors accordingly is much easier and much less couched in the same kind of in-your-face attention-whoring activism as homo parades and antifa rallies.
OC is problematic and stupid…and potentially deadly when abused as I detailed above. And it absolutely harms the cause by scaring the bejeebus out of the blue people as it also potentially triggers deadly response by red ones. I don’t see a slung EBR in an out of context venue being handled recklessly by said attention whores as a terrorist threat, I just see stupid and to the degree that I perceive danger inadvertent or otherwise to me and mine, will act accordingly. YMMV.

Criminal and mass murdering perps choose armed victims in gun free zones almost EVERY TIME. The ruling class who use their actions as a pretext to disarm us aid and abet them and are their accomplices.

Correction: choose UNARMED victims

Ron W, of course. Just trying to figure how that proven and indisputable fact figures into this context?

Just wondering if this highly unusual rifle OC was indeed “a gun control activist” sent as a follow on to provoke more reactionary gun free zones.

Got it. Sometimes hard to tell the difference between fake flag ops and pure stupid acts. Either requires the actor to have a death wish.
If one or two get their wish the problem might end up being self-resolving. But it’s too bad a justified self-defense response could fuck up an innocent responder’s life too.
