Spare Gun Parts: Why You Need Them Now

Good advice. I do need to up my AR-15 spare parts bin.

I would, but short of ordering ‘everything’ in the Brownells catalog, I just don’t know what will break next.
    Always surprised by it too…

Can’t hurt to have spares of parts that commonly fail, break, or are lost, but in a twist on the old saw that “two is one and one is none” the best parts bin is a whole ‘nother duplicate firearm.

Always good to have a backup anyway, and this way when you pull a piece from the “donor” you’ll know exactly what to order to make it whole again without a lapse in usability of the primary.

With ARs being as cheap as they are right now, it is easier to just buy entire rifles.

They sell AR-15 spring kits for the very reason that they sometimes tend to go airborne. Cheaper Than Dirt has one that’s even called “Oops”

If I am out past where the mail runs occasionally, I think a small spare parts box would be ideal. Sure, have that extra gun Just In Case of catastrophic failure. But if replacing the ejector or the OOPS! spring gets you back on the shooting line with the gun your using for whatever then the investment to me is worth it.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
