In anticipation of a large gun rights crowd gathering, governor blackface has banned guns at the capitol.
It also looks like the powers that be are attempting to make attending as difficult as possible.
I tend to agree with Sebastian here that there will be agitators. I’ve got a strange contradictory feeling about this. One one hand, gun control protests are generally peaceful. On the other, it only takes one screw up to damage the movement. We’ll see.
Grip angle and natural point of aim will not make you a better shooter.
A gun feeling “good in your hand” also will not.
CMMG is getting into the 5.7 game. Ruger did recently as well. Has there been a surge in the caliber’s popularity lately?
A subtle design feature of the AR-15 rifle has raised a technical legal question that is derailing cases against people who are charged with illegally buying and selling the gun’s parts or building the weapon.
At issue is whether a key piece of one of America’s most popular firearms meets the definition of a gun that prosecutors have long relied on.
For decades, the federal government has treated a mechanism called the lower receiver as the essential piece of the semiautomatic rifle, which has been used in some of the nation’s deadliest mass shootings. Prosecutors regularly bring charges based on that specific part.
But some defense attorneys have recently argued that the part alone does not meet the definition in the law. Federal law enforcement officials, who have long been concerned about the discrepancy, are increasingly worried that it could hinder some criminal prosecutions and undermine firearms regulations nationwide.
Basically, some part has to be serialized and that part varies by firearm. A whole lot more from J. KB.

Sen. Steve Daines has introduced a bill to expand travel protections offered by the Firearm Owners Protection Act:
The bill would reform the Firearm Owners Protection Act (FOPA), clarifying the term transport to include staying in temporary lodging overnight, stopping for food, fuel, vehicle maintenance, an emergency, medical treatment, and any other activity incidental.
Daines said Americans should not be afraid to transport their legally owned firearms.
Yeah, I wouldn’t stop for gas in New Jersey. Just sayin’.
The list kind of surprised me. I expected more ARs and Glocks.
Also, a list of imports by country.
This one clearly has plenty of Glocks.
Warren: U.S. Will Build No New Houses or Buildings Unless Carbon Neutral
That is absolutely insane.
No, the other kind. Tools to set up reloading for your AR-15.
Any of you guys have any advice on reloading? I’m tangentially interested. Not to save money but I want to stock enough primers and boolits to have plenty in stock should the ammo market get all crazy again. I’d only need to re load 5.56, 9mm, and .357. Let me know what you got. Thanks.
It looks like there will be some second amendment rallies in VA in response to the Democrats’ push for gun bans. Some advice: Don’t dress like a tactical hobo and open carry, well, anything. The press will find some tactical neck beard guy carrying a bubba’d up SKS and focus on that guy. Don’t be that guy. Dress normally and casually.
Over the holidays, the family and I went to NYC. Only occasionally did I get a whiff of piss and sewage. Seems to have cleaned up a bit since my last trip there. And, the only thing I really like about NYC, is the food. Had some good stuff.
My daughter wanted to go because of several pop culture related things. The kids had fun spending their time mostly shopping. Here’s the Freedom Tower:
And the most interesting thing I saw was actually in the Nintendo store. A game boy damaged in the first gulf war that still runs:
Oh, and for those who will ask, I carried a pocket knife and POM pepper spray. Both are legal there.

Make shower heads, diesel engines, gas engines, and washing machines great again.
Make soap, toilets and light bulbs great again.
There’s more I’ve probably forgotten.
SHOT coming up:
everyone: releases the usual bout of ARs and 1911s.
Ruger: Ruger 5-7.
Everyone: Wha?
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
