Maybe its the red dot sight, but when I was a NYARNG SFC, we zeroed with iron sights at 100 yards (M16A1).
Dead on at 100 yards. 1″ low at 50, 1 inch high at 200, 2″ low at three hundred yards. Then we’d flip up the long range peep, and we were center mass to 460 yards.
