The party of smaller government
Apparently thinks the state of TN needs an official state tool.
Finally finished the upper half:
Initially, the slide wouldn’t go on. Seems I installed the firing pin safety incorrectly and it could get caught on the firing pin. Just took it apart and re-assembled, paying more attention this time.
More details later.

Speaking of, Tourniquet Vs. Packing Vs. Seal
A Republican senator in my state wants to ban grocery store bags. This is a stupid idea.
A look by Guy Sagi. Serial numbers up toward the top now and adding non-binary to the sex selection.
John Kerry, who by the way served in Vietnam, endorses Biden because he will ban the AR-16 with the long clips.
Those pesky Russians are interfering with an election again.
Seen on Facebook: What the organizers lacked in competence, they made up for in diversity.
The tolerant left: Woman freaks out after finding out Mayor Pete is gay. Asks for vote back.
This is the funniest thing to watch in all of American politics. Can a political party be reduced to nothing in 3 years? The Dems seem to be trying to find out.
Good:
Eighteen state attorneys general have joined in an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court supporting a Second Amendment Foundation petition for writ of certiorari seeking high court review in the case of Culp v. Raoul, which challenges the refusal by Illinois to take applications from non-residents for an Illinois carry license.
Plaintiffs are asking the Court to determine Whether the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms requires that the State of Illinois allow qualified non-residents to apply for an Illinois concealed carry license. SAF is joined by the Illinois State Rifle Association, Illinois Carry and several private citizens. They are represented by attorney David G. Sigale of Wheaton.
Andrew Gottlieb is launching 2A Gaming as a way of reaching the millions upon millions of people who are steeped in firearm-based video gaming but non-committal when time comes to vote for pro-gun candidates.
This could be interesting. On the one hand, gamers might get irate at turning their hobby into a political issue. On the other hand, it might actually work.

I guess they don’t like the competition?
CNN is butthurt at the lack of diversity of Trump’s coronavirus task force. Sorry, CNN, but the adults care only about the competence of the team and not its gender or racial make up.
He overstates the number of deaths of children significantly. And the woman in the ad with the story about losing her child actually lost a 20 year old gang member.
This is how you government:
The state inspector generals office, which works to ferret out waste and misconduct in Pennsylvania government programs and agencies, has itself made a costly blunder and left taxpayers on the hook, Spotlight PA has learned.
The watchdog office spent nearly $160,000 on pistols, ammunition and related equipment that its investigators are not legally allowed to carry. As a result, the weapons have collected dust in storage for nearly two years.
A run down. Also, I’ve been watching the show Mr. In Between and it is set in Oz. The choices of guns in the show are always interesting. Lots of S&W DA pistolas and not a Glock to be seen. I wonder why.
OK, maybe I was wrong in that previous post
2020 may be the year of 5.7 ammo. Ruger released a pistol and CMMG came out with a PDW in the same caliber. Via email, comes this:
AmmunitionToGo.com reports an 849 percent increase in 5.7×28 interest on its website. The retailer also reports a 300 percent increase 5.7×28 ammo sales in January 2020 compared to January 2019.
I’ve never really had any particular love for the caliber.
2019 and 2020 appear to be the year of the pistol caliber carbine. Rise Armament Quarter Circle 10 AR-Platform Pistol
14 years ago*, I had a 9mm AR-15. I got it for the purpose of shooting at the indoor gun range (other cool kids did the same thing). Once I moved to a place where I could shoot outdoors, I didn’t really think I needed it anymore.
Now, with pistol braces being ubiquitous, I’m thinking a shorter barreled 9mm AR might be a good choice for home defense. Plus, they’re fun as hell to shoot.
* Holy shit, it’s been that long.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
