Junior’s Shopping List
Via Kim, those nice folks at the Violence Policy Center have provided a good list of 22 rifles and some shotguns that are marketed for children.
I think I’ll just let Junior have one of these.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.

It always amuses me when people freak out that a child might learn to shoot. I learned at age 11 from two range instructors at a Boy Scout camp nicknamed Scary Larry and Santa Claus (Scary Larry was a Vietnam Vet and looked mean, but wasn’t; Santa Claus got his nick from his beard and how he spent his Christmases handing out toys to kids in the terminal ward at the Children’s Hospital). They drilled into my head the three rules of gun safety and ripped anyone who did not respect the firearms and range safety. I would be happy to let my kids learn from them. I would feel safer if they knew proper firearms treatment and I had a gun, than if they didn’t know it and I didn’t own a gun.
