More on Maryland Gun Confiscations

Due to my doubts, reader has been forwarding me various accounts of allegations that the authorities went to people’s homes who had 223 rifles to harass them err ask permission to do ballistic fingerprinting:

A CNS article where the press is there when the authorities show up.

Here’s a TFL account of it and another and another.

And here’s an article by David Kopel on the subject.

I initially doubted it had happened but, as I read more, I’m convinced it did.

Dammit. Now I just feel left out… I guess that I just live a bit too far from Monkey county. (25 miles north east)

I have to say one of the worst things I keep getting from these stories is that the .gov know EXACTLY what guns I own and when, where I bought them. So….. isn’t that a registration.

And I was of the understanding that there was no such thing as a registration.

    Loggerheads!!

    What now?

I think we should all sell everything to each other, within the law of course, and damn all that other stuff.

No registration, per se. But it’s pretty easy to go through the yellow form 4473, I’d guess. Not sure about Maryland law, though.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
