EOTech all better now

I reported here that my EOTech was busted. It seems all better now. I just needed to reset the circuits by:

Removing the batteries

Pressing the buttons for a few seconds

Letting it sit for several minutes

Now, it works just fine.

    You know, I can’t believe I didn’t know that.

Pardon me whilst I go hang my head in shame.

Well, you can’t know everything. Heck, you can’t find time to blog 😉

  4. Standard Mischief Says:

How do you know it’s fixed, for good? Why did it go all flaky on you anyway?

Are you cowitnessing with this rig?

  5. Phelps Says:

In other words, you fixed it with voodoo? You shook some knuckle bones and threw some chicken blood around and it started working?

  6. SayUncle Says:

SM, folks say it is fixed for good and that rarely happens though it happens more with N battery models than with AA battery models. It does cowitness.

    Phelps, nah, just rebooted.

    well, I’ll be damned:

Reset the electronics by removing any source of power for approximately two minutes. This will allow a capacitor in the electronics housing to drain of power, resetting the electronics. Reconnect the batteries and operate the sight as normal.

I would still bet that there’s no real computing power in that sight though. so “rebooted” should go in quotes.

Good thing it does cowitness. Belt and suspenders backup for those times you have a charging rabid whistle-pig after you 😉

The term you’re looking for is “power cycled.” What’s the difference between “power cycling” and “turning it on and off,” you ask? About a hundred dollars per hour in the computer consulting world.

    Sounds like it’s running Windows…

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
