Catching gun criminals in New York

From Cam Edwards:

Attorney and former Congressman Bob Barr announced today that he and the Law Offices of Edwin Marger, of which he is Of Counsel and is located in Jasper, Georgia, will be pursuing legal action against New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg on behalf of Adventure Outdoors. Bloomberg, in May of this year, named Adventure Outdoors, a family owned hunting supply business in Smyrna, Georgia, in a federal lawsuit against “rogue gun dealers.”

Bloomberg conspired with others named in the lawsuit to deceive Adventure Outdoors in order to falsely and fraudulently purchase a firearm. By doing so, the conspirators falsified an ATF form which is a clear violation of federal and Georgia laws. Furthermore, Bloomberg then released misleading statements to national news media, which damaged the reputation and business of Adventure Outdoors in this scheme to defame and violate the law.

In his statement, Barr expressed his confidence in a successful outcome for Adventure Outdoors and further stated that “Mayor Bloomberg’s and the other players’ actions were careless, willful and clearly illegal.

Is there a fund to contribute to?

Background here.

Update: Press coverage here and here. Think the NYT will run it?

Wouldn’t it be nice to see Bloomberg and accomplices in the federal pen? If criminal charges aren’t brought against them, perhaps Barr and his partners could file or pursue the filing of charges against the BATF***Everybody and appropriate federal prosecutors for selective enforcement of the law rising to the level of accessories after the fact.

And since the actions are against Georgia state law, felony charges can be filed, arrest warrants issued and extradition pursued without the cooperation of the Feds. Even if Georgia can’t gain law enforcement cooperation in extradition of Bloomberg and his criminal gang to Georgia, think of all the problems Bloomberg would have being a wanted suspected felon. No air travel, confiscated passport, or possible arrest anywhere outside the environs of NYC, especially in other states, and no possession of firearms without breaking federal law. There goes all the conferences in vacation resorts!

Also, he would be subject to capture and delivery to Georgia by bounty hunters.

I sincerely hope that Mr. Barr uses his considerable influence to persuade the Georgia Attorney General to do his duty. It is his duty to pursue prosecution and conviction of those breaking state law. It is not his discretion, it is, I repeat, his duty. Politics being what they are, I imagine a member of the “good ole boy club” will need to be reminded of that. I certainly hope the AG is reminded publicly and often.

[…] In my post on the lawsuit against Bloomberg (where his investigators broke the law), I asked: Is there a fund to contribute to? […]

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
