Security Theater Update
In an update to troopers stopping all trucks in Knoxville, here’s a count:
A truck safety inspection crackdown has resulted in 596 violations found and 66 rigs taken off the road.
[…]
Among the rigs checked were 395 trucks hauling hazardous materials. There were 329 trucks checked by bomb or drug dogs and 760 were checked for radiological contaminants.
Terrorists found: None.
Shocking, since they announced it before hand.

I’m in favour, we need rig checks to let hauliers know they have a duty to the public, their drivers and their clients. Looking down the highway ahead it should reduce breakdowns and accidents. Breakdowns carry the risk of cars ploughing into stationary broke down vehicles, accidents need no further explanation. I’m unsure of what you mean by terrorist inspections – so guessing – if it increases our vigilance, our public awareness to counter terrorists, then let it go. 9-11 is a bloodstream issue thats not going to go away.
