Dang. Missed the bleg. Well, I finally had to break down and get prescription driving/shooting glasses. I went with Bolle, because for what you get, they’re a great value. The cool thing being that the prescription part is an insert, so when the prescription changes, it’s cheap to get it redone. They’re also ANSI shatterproof rated (or something like that).
But, before the ravages of presbyopia, I wore the Maui Jim Kahuna Copper (as seen on my blog). Yeah, they’re expensive, but mine took a serious beating a few times, and help up very well. They’re the best driving glasses I’ve ever owned, and I’ve had Revos, Serengeti and Ray-Ban. My last pair of cheap sunglasses went in the trash because they created funny not-really ghost images. You won’t necessarily see the optical artifacts in the store. But get into the sun, for example looking through the windshield of your car, and you’ll be glad you went for real optical-grade lenses.
