Lies
The Brady Campaign can’t win when the truth is told. So, they lie:
Among other things, it would allow people to carry loaded assault weapons on city streets. Teenagers and children would be allowed to carry assault and sniper rifles, as the bill repeals all age restrictions on the possession of long guns.
And that, of course, is total crap.
Update: From Kaveman: Go to the BC homepage and click the “capitol under fire” image and look at the top of page #5:
Under H.R. 6691, it would even be legal for some terrorists to carry .50 caliber sniper rifles and military-style assault rifles.
Wow!

That’s nothing.
Go to the BC homepage and click the “capitol under fire” image and look at the top of page #5.
Now Helmke is saying that if HR6691 passes, terrorists will be able to walk the streets of DC with AK’s and .50 cals.
Hs’s losing it big time.

The letter they sent out claimed that people could cruise around in openly armed vehicles w/o the police being able to do anything.

And the Brady Bunch wonders why no one wants to be endorsed by them.

I read thier groundbreaking report and conclude with thier iron-clad arguments/research that if this bill is passed it will make the danger that the Hadron Collider brings against our universe seem miniscule…
And we all know that the Hadron Collider can bring dragons out of black holes.

I can sum up that “report” in one word: PSHunami

And, hey, I might be loose, but I’m not easy.

The WaPo has an interesting article about why politicians lie.

Whats next for them, claiming M-1 tanks are street legal?
September 15th, 2008 at 10:19 pm
Yea, but only the law abiding terrorists who pass a background check, get fingerprinted, and carry around a permission chit from the state. Oh, and they need to carry their long arms around in a case too. Sheesh, you would think we were about to get Vermont in DC or something.
(clueless: j/k on the law abiding terrorists thingy)

“Whats next for them, claiming M-1 tanks are street legal?”
Well they are not legal in PA, but only because we have a vehicle width restrictions on secondary roads and city streets! as long as you have all the running lights working and are using the rubber track pads and stick to the highways, you can run them on the highways ’til you get to a bridge 😉
