The Southern Poverty Law Center doesn’t really care about left wing terrorism.
And Ladd Everett says that fast and furious is made up. Despite the facts and the admission of AG, it’s just not convenient for anti-gun ideology.

Republicans on the House Oversight Committee were to take the first formal step Thursday toward contempt proceedings against Attorney General Eric Holder over the Fast and Furious “gunwalking” operation, CBS News has learned.
The case for a citation declaring Holder in contempt will be laid out in a briefing paper and 48-page draft citation distributed to Democrats and Republicans on the committee. CBS News has obtained copies of both documents. In them, Republican members use strong language to accuse Holder of obstructing the committee’s investigation, which is now in its second year.
So reports the Wall Street Journal:
U.S. homeland-security and law-enforcement agencies have objected to Obama administration proposals to relax export restrictions on high-powered firearms, threatening a centerpiece of the president’s trade and national-security agenda.
The agencies, in internal memos viewed by The Wall Street Journal, warn the changes could help arm drug cartels and terrorists and make it harder for the U.S. to crack down on gun-trafficking.
The arms proposal is part of a broader overhaul of U.S. export rules sought by Mr. Obama, with the goal of helping domestic manufacturers compete in global markets, as well as improving U.S. national security by focusing controls on higher-risk items and enhancing the capabilities of allies.
The president knows a growth industry when he sees it. And suddenly, the government is concerned about arming drug cartels? That’s a good one.
ATF made up a rule where folks in border states had to report multiple rifles sales. This rule is of questionable legality. But they’ll still investigate you for it. Also, looks a lot like an unlawful database to me:
The U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives said Wednesday that it is not looking at everyone who makes multiple purchases, but those who draw suspicion for other reasons, such as repeatedly buying the same guns.
Rule by fiat.
ATF allegedly broke the law, compiling copies of form 4473. Now, a senator has stepped in to investigate.
Gun shop raided for supposedly selling guns to people who might send them to Mexico. I wonder if ATF told me to do it would fly in court?
In a twist, it turns out the big fish that ATF was after were the FBI’s informants. Now, I’m not a police expert but shouldn’t you know where your informants are. And probably not letting your counterparts go after them?
Seems the federales caught someone smuggling ammo into Mexico. He was a top gun runner for F&F. ATF had him in custody and let him go. More here.
Funny how this works:
More than half of Obama’s 47 biggest fundraisers, those who collected at least $500,000 for his campaign, have been given administration jobs. Nine more have been appointed to presidential boards and committees.
Why, it’s like they’re buying influence. And Tam on Eric Holder:
How ’bout all those shiny new tools Eric & Co. found in the shed when they got the keys to 1600, eh? Good thing they were only for use against terrorists!
House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa to Eric Holder:
You don’t have the right to get 200 Mexicans and and least two Americans murdered in the name of quote, following the guns loosely to the scene of the crime.
Shelley: That’s an AOW
ATF has a handy guide, which will change at their whim when it suits them.
Actually, maybe. You see, some folks live in a magical state where they’ve warped reality so that that is not an AOW. Maybe. At least a couple of courts have told the ATF that their for classification of pistols with vertical forward grips as AOWs doesn’t fly. ATF’s position is, basically, it’s an AOW because they say so. And the court’s said that’s not good enough. ATF will still charge someone with that crime, though. They, as an agency, make it a policy to disregard court rulings.
Dave Kopel: Holder must go.
The press would treat this differently if the administration didn’t have Ds after their names.
Her new column looks at gun control in the Obama budget:
Now Mr. Obama is proposing to remove that provision from the 2013 spending bill, thus making it legal to revive gun-walking operations in the future. The White House justification is merely that the prohibition is “not necessary.”
IBD says that it was about gun control and it was widely known throughout the administration.
Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
